First Time

The first time we made love
   In your mother’s unmade bed,
      I felt nothing but feeling,
         I noticed nothing but you

The last time we made time
   To make love in our own bed
      I felt nothing
         But I noticed the ceiling needed painting

Is that the law of diminishing returns...?
